Broad Run Golfer's Club is one of West Chester's most popular outing courses. Whether you are hosting a 32 player church event or a larger fundraiser outing, Broad Run is the ideal choice. Hundreds of tournament coordinators have chosen Broad Run to host their golf tournaments, and they return again and again! Here's why we excel at outings...you'll quickly see why we are one of the best venues in Eastern & Central Pennsylvania.

Value – We can design an outing package to fit into almost any tournament budget.

Whether your group is looking for an event with all the bells and whistles or maybe simplicity is more your style, we guarantee that your group will get the attention it deserves year after year.  We offer complete event planning that leaves nothing to chance and have an incredible Rees Jones designed golf course that is sure to exceed your group’s expectations. Our pricing is also extremely competitive; we can accommodate most budgets if you can work with us on time of year and day of week.

Playability – We put the FUN back in golf!

Broad Run Golf Course is the best layout in West Chester.  We believe our course is one of the most enjoyable in the surrounding areas, regardless of the skill level of your group. The incredible 18-hole championship golf course, plus the beautiful scenery, large greens, elevation changes and relaxed atmosphere all make for a golf experience that is second to none. A day at Broad Run is the perfect opportunity to take plenty of photos and create new memories.

Excellent Playing Conditions – We ensure that our golf course is in great shape!

Perhaps the most common compliment we hear again and again at Broad Run Golfer's Club is that the golf course is in excellent condition.  We strive to maintain tournament level conditioning each and every day.  Smooth, fast bentgrass greens, perfectly manicured fairways and well maintained bunkers; all the attention to detail you would expect at an award-winning facility.

The Perfect Location – Once you pull in the parking lot you'll realize you're someplace special!

Broad Run is located in suburban Philadelphia, only 30 minutes from downtown. This location allows us to be close to the city, making us easy to find, but our country setting will give your players the feeling that they are hundreds of miles away from congestion, noise and the crazy drivers in the city. Come enjoy a day in the country and leave the stress of city life behind.

Incredible food and first class service – We’ll impress even the most discerning palettes!

Broad Run is gaining popularity for their new menu items guaranteed to leave a lasting impression on your group.  With this reputation, just imagine how fabulous your food will be!  With everything made on site by our Executive Chef and the Broad Run catering team, we are dedicated to providing our golfers and guests with the finest dining available. We can offer you and your guests personalized service in a comfortable pub setting with a relaxed atmosphere.  The warmth, gracious hospitality and passion for delicious food harbored at Broad Run will all culminate to be your best golf tournament and post-outing awards ceremony ever.

Event planning – We’ll do all of the work…You get all the credit!

Whether you are a rookie or seasoned veteran at planning golf outings, we can help make your job easier.  Planning a golf tournament can be a tough job, but at Broad Run our goal is to make the planning process as painless as possible.  We strive to create a fun experience for you as well as your players, both before, during and after your golf outing.  We host over 50 outings each golf season and with that experience comes the knowledge to ensure that we do it right.  Whether you are planning your outing to be competitive or social, we’ll always make it fun!

People play in a golf tournament for the following reasons:

  • They do it to support you because they are a friend or relative or they believe in your cause.
  • They can play a golf course that they usually wouldn't play.
  • Because your prizes are substantial and they feel they have a chance at winning one.

Best way to fill your field of 144 players? Form a committee of nine people:

  • You – make all of the final decisions.
  • Honorary Chairperson (i.e. mayor, sports figure, local newscaster, local actor, etc.) – someone who supports your cause.
  • Logistics Person – handles coordination of day of events.
  • Volunteer Chairperson – gets volunteers to help with check in, witness the hole in one contest, etc.
  • Prize Chairperson – visits local restaurants, taverns, and businesses and asks for donations (gift certificates and merchandise) for outing prizes and raffles.
  • Golf Course Intermediary – works with golf course personnel to make all arrangements and negotiate fees.
  • Outing Accountant – collects all of the entry fees and manages the finances. Offering a $5 discount for paying two weeks prior to the event helps when giving guarantee to the golf course.
  • Sponsorship Chairperson – approaches businesses with regard to sponsoring the beverage cart, meals, hole in one contest, etc. Also sell hole sponsorships.  Approach people you or someone on the committee knows. People tend to support their friends or relatives.
  • PR Chairperson – works with local media to try to get PR on your event.  Also in charge of outing website and sending out invitations to potential guests (golfers).

If you can hold each committee member responsible for only four foursomes, you have a full field of 36 teams or 144 players.

Additional Tips:

  • Make sure you acknowledge all sponsors. You can do so with announcements, signs, collateral, and asking them to speak before or after the outing.
  • You can give a sponsor a foursome in the tournament to persuade them to make a significant donation.
  • Don’t significantly overcharge the golfers – make the event a good value to ensure the golfers return the following years.  The sponsors should generate the majority of the revenue.
  • Keep the post-outing dinner and awards ceremony to no more than 90 minutes. Keep the outing moving. Time is a valuable commodity.
  • Golfers enjoy on course contests – longest drive, closest to the pin, beat the pro and straightest drive are a few common contests. The more prizes you give out the better the chance your golfers will return the following year. People love to win prizes.
  • Other ways to generate revenue – mulligan packages, sell raffle tickets, silent auctions and 50/50 drawings.
  • Get your pairings and guaranteed number of players to the golf course at least seven days prior to the event.
  • Start your tournament preparation at least nine months prior to the event.  The more time you put into organizing the event, the better the event will be.
